In 2022, New York became the first state to require attorneys to obtain one credit in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection training as part of their annual CLE requirements. Throughout their workdays, attorneys transmit and store confidential client information in an electronic form. This program will explore how attorneys’ ethical obligations extend to safely transmitting and storing client information, as well as preventing and responding to cybersecurity attacks and data breaches.
